Daily Scribble finishes No. 2 in voting for best Web political cartoon of 2004

"Pithy, witty, funny and on top of the news. What blogs are to political commentary, the Daily Scribble is to the editorial cartoon. I keep coming back for more."  Joshua Micah Marshall, Talking Points Memo.

"Though Charles Pugsley Fincher would do well to find a stage name, his daily scribbles are nothing to scoff at. Plain and simple, on lined yellow scratch paper, yet they speak volumes." Jacob Wheeler,

John R. Bolton, a United Nations critic and undersecretary of state, is nominated as ambassador to the U.N. The announcement was made by Condoleezza Rice, who he'll report to if confirmed. However, Dick Cheney is rumored to be behind the appointment. Looking at the photos of Condi and Bolton together, I noticed that they each had the exact same-length, asymmetrical bangs, though Bolton didn't have the Condi flip in back.

From the New York Times on Cheney's involvement behind the scenes: "A top Republican foreign policy official close to the administration said that it was well understood that Mr. Bolton might alienate Europeans, but that Mr. Cheney had pushed for him for the United Nations job." (see page 2 online).
