Daily Scribble finishes No. 2 in voting for best Web political cartoon of 2004

"Pithy, witty, funny and on top of the news. What blogs are to political commentary, the Daily Scribble is to the editorial cartoon. I keep coming back for more."  Joshua Micah Marshall, Talking Points Memo.

"Though Charles Pugsley Fincher would do well to find a stage name, his daily scribbles are nothing to scoff at. Plain and simple, on lined yellow scratch paper, yet they speak volumes." Jacob Wheeler,

The Commission reluctantly appointed by Bush to study the failures of intelligence on WMD in Iraq delivered its report today. It blames the CIA, the FBI and the Defense Intelligence Agency for erroneously concluding that Saddam Hussein had WMD in Iraq. See Washington Post story. I haven't seen a story on Dick Cheney's reaction to the report, but if the past holds true, he'll continue to maintain either directly or through insinuation that there were indeed WMD. That's why Scribble loosed a specialized sniffing dog to find the last person in America to maintain that there were WMD.

George W. Bush is said to be planning to accept the report of the Commission on the Intelligence Capabilities of the United States Regarding Weapons of Mass Destruction as the authoritative conclusion on what went wrong. Good move since it blames George Tenet and the aforementioned agencies for the bad intel, and lays no fault on Bush. See Washington Post column that says that Bush gets a pass from the report.
