Donald Rumsfeld is in Iraq today. The early-morning TV news reports say his purpose is to quiet the furor over the prison photos. The rest of us know that it's a mission to try to polish his damaged image with the American public. I think it's too late. Rummy is not liked by the military, he was wrong on the number of troops needed for Iraq, and apparently never planned for the occupation -- an incredible error. Don't feel sorry for him, though. This is a man who's trashed many peoples' reputations in political infighting and insults you on your first meeting with him (a middle-school-like attempt at gaining control). His time is past.
