C.I.A. director George Tenet resigned on Thursday. He cited personal reasons saying wanted to spend more time with his family. Practically no one believes that, but instead think he was forced out. There's some talk about the fact that George W. Bush was revealed yesterday to have consulted with an outside counsel over the C.I.A. leak case, and the timing of the resignation announced on the day Bush leaves the country.
The cartoon above is an old one from my other project Thadeus & Weez, which I do for newspapers. I did the strip on 07.20.03 when many thought Tenet had taken the fall for the yellow-cake-uranium story out of Africa. That's the situation that likely caused the outting of C.I.A. agent Valerie Plame in revenge. To see the same strip with background notes on what was happening at the time click here. 06.04.04
