By Charles Pugsley Fincher, A Spin-Off of

Departing C.I.A. Director George Tenet had his farewell at the company on Thursday. Today the Senate Intelligence Committee report sharply criticizes the C.I.A. for faults with its pre-war intelligence on Iraq.

The determination of George W. Bush and his cabal of neocons to invade Iraq regardless of the lack of evidence of the necessity to do so is not a subject of the report. Dick Cheney has been particularly determined to assert disproved theories for the attack even today. A separate Democratic statement will address the Bush administration's lies to the nation.

Tenet took a fall for Bush a while back over the false story of Iraq trying to obtain yellow-cake uranium from Niger in Africa. Click here to see the strip on Tenet's taking the fall. 07.09.04
