By Charles Pugsley Fincher, A Spin-Off of

I took the cartoon that I did on June 16, 2004 and taped on yet another excuse given by Dick Cheney for the invasion of Iraq. As each one of his theories for the attack is shot down, he comes up with yet another. I wonder how long this cartoon will get.

While George W. Bush lies low in Crawford, Texas, Dick Cheney is out there against tradition trying to counteract the attention given to John Kerry and John Edwards because of the Democratic convention. Here Cheney gave the newest reason, above, for having gone to war with Iraq.

On Tuesday at Camp Pendleton, California, "Cheney said Americans were safer and he stood by prewar characterizations of Iraq as a 'gathering threat' despite the failure to find weapons of mass destruction and new warnings by Cheney and other administration officials that another major terrorist attack may be coming."
