Yesterday, George W. Bush nominated Republican Congressmen Porter Goss for Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. The Bush side of it is that he can't lose. If the Democrats block the appointment he'll paint them as obstructive on national security. Otherwise, he gets his nomination. Some analysts have pointed out that Bush nominated Goss -- a congressman from Florida -- on the eve of his campaign swing through Florida.
